What is the FineWaters TASTE & DESIGN AWARDS?

The FineWaters TASTE & DESIGN AWARDS is one of the most respected competitions in the premium bottled water industry. Hosted by FineWaters and the Fine Water Society, this event celebrates excellence in both taste and design. Much like wine, premium bottled waters are judged on their unique terroir, character, and sense of place. A panel of five international water sommeliers will evaluate entries from around the world, highlighting waters that excel in taste profiles and packaging design.

This year’s event will be held at the Kimpton Sylvan Hotel in Atlanta’s Buckhead area, often referred to as the “Beverly Hills of the South.” It promises to be an unforgettable experience for attendees and participants alike.

A History of Excellence

Beloka Water has a proud history of competing—and winning—at international water tasting competitions. Over the years, we have earned gold medals for both our still and sparkling waters in various categories:

  • Gold for Best Sparkling Water (Medium Minerality) – Guangzhou, China 2017
  • Gold for Best Still Water (Medium Minerality) – Stockholm, Sweden 2019
  • Gold for Best Sparkling Water (Medium Minerality) – Stockholm, Sweden 2019
  • Gold for Best Sparkling Water (Medium Minerality) – Bled, Slovenia 2021

Our water has also been rated ‘Superior’ by Fine Waters of the World, a testament to its exceptional quality and flavour. These accolades reflect our commitment to producing water that is not only pure but also rich in character.

What Makes Beloka Water Unique?

Beloka Water stands out for its pristine source and balanced mineral composition. Our water is drawn from an ancient spring located on the edge of Kosciuszko National Park in New South Wales. This unspoilt environment ensures that our water is as pure as nature intended.

Filtered through 500-million-year-old geological strata, Beloka Water boasts a medium minerality that gives it a smooth mouthfeel and subtle flavour. Whether still or lightly sparkling, our water offers a refreshing experience that pairs beautifully with fine food and wine.

We are also deeply committed to sustainability. Our bottles are made from recycled glass, and all packaging materials are sourced locally within Australia. This approach not only reduces our environmental footprint but also ensures that every sip of Beloka Water is as eco-friendly as it is delicious.

The FineWaters SUMMIT 2025: A Platform for Sustainability

This year’s FineWaters SUMMIT will emphasise “Sustainability and Community Impact,” addressing key issues within the bottled water industry. The summit runs from April 25th to 27th and will feature presentations from leading brands, distributors, water sommeliers, and environmental experts.

For us at Beloka Water, sustainability is more than a theme; it is a core value. From our eco-conscious bottling practices to our local sourcing initiatives, we strive to make a positive impact on both our community and the environment. Participating in an event that shares these values makes this opportunity even more meaningful.

The Competition: What to Expect

The TASTE & DESIGN AWARDS will kick off on April 25th with a judging session led by five international sommeliers. Waters will be evaluated based on their minerality (Total Dissolved Solids or TDS) across several categories:

  • Still Waters: Super Low (<50 mg/l), Low (50–250 mg/l), Medium (250–800 mg/l), High (800–1,500 mg/l), Very High (>1,500 mg/l)
  • Sparkling Waters: Divided by source of carbonation (natural or added) and minerality levels

In addition to taste, design plays a crucial role in this competition. The bottle design must reflect the brand’s identity while connecting emotionally with consumers. At Beloka Water, we take great pride in our elegant yet functional packaging that complements the purity of our product.

Following the awards ceremony, attendees will enjoy the renowned Water Experience Dinner—a unique event featuring up to 100 distinct water samples paired with gourmet dishes. This immersive experience highlights how different waters can enhance various flavours and textures in food.

Representing Australia on a Global Stage

As an Australian-owned and operated company, we are immensely proud to represent our country at such a prestigious event.
