Mise en Place Trade Show Sydney – A huge success!

One of Beloka Water’s latest achievements is a successful appearance at Mise en Place 2018. This trade-only event, held at the stunning, five-star Ovolo Hotel in Woolloomooloo, Sydney, on Monday May 14 2018, gave us the chance to connect with some of Australia’s most prominent hospitality figures, including chefs, sommeliers and restaurateurs.

Needless to say, we were incredibly excited by the opportunity to spread the word about Beloka Water. It’s no secret that we’re confident that it’s the best mineral water available on the Australian market. Our goal is to share it with as many people as possible. We believe that Beloka Water is an appealing addition to any drinks list in the country – or the world.

What is Mise en Place?

Mise en Place is one of the leading hospitality events on the world stage. It is a global initiative, organised and run by Gault&Millau, a highly-respected international authority on dining standards. Since being established in France more than 40 years ago, the organisation has continually expanded. Today, Gault&Millau is licensed in thirteen countries all over the world.

In Australia, Gault&Millau first launched in 2013. This led to the publication of the 2014 Gault&Millau Australia Guide. Given that it was already an established brand, it didn’t take long for Gault&Millau to attract a wide readership and recognition across the consumer and trade markets. Although there are many restaurant guides in Australia, Gault&Millau’s is the only international one. In 2018, it will be the only print guide to cover every city in the country.

Why is Mise en Place so important?

Unlike other trade shows, Mise en Place is unique and intimate. It isn’t open to just any hospitality operator. In fact, the event focuses on high-quality producers and suppliers. The only way an operator can gain access is by proving that his/her product is of premium grade and brings something special to the market. At the Ovolo Hotel, we were one of 40-45 exhibitors, visited by 200-300 guests. There were masterclasses, cooking demonstrations and the announcement of the finalists for the 2018 NSW and ACT Gault&Millau Awards.

On top of that, Mise en Place presents the opportunity to engage with chefs, sommeliers and restaurateurs one-on-one. These days, so much of our communication takes place over the phone or via email. And yet, there’s no substitute for face-to-face contact. The show gave us the chance to speak with potential clients directly and intimately. We were able to answer questions and tell them all about the benefits of Beloka Water – from its pristine origins in the Snowy Mountains to the fact that its 100% Australian, all packaging included.

Being able to offer a taste testing was a big bonus, too! After all, we can talk about Beloka Water until we’re blue in the face, but that’s not the same as giving someone the chance to sample it. It’s the only way that a chef or bar manager can tell if the taste profile is the right match for their food or business. We’re pleased to say that many of the Mise en Place attendees who sampled Beloka Water were very impressed.

Building relationships

Here at Beloka Water, we’re really proud of the long-term relationships that we’ve developed with so many of our clients. After trying our product, numerous people decide to stick with us.

However, all relationships have to start somewhere. And that’s another reason why Mise en Place was so important. It presented opportunities to establish connections. Many of the chefs, sommeliers, restaurateurs and hospitality professionals we met identified with our values. They could see that we were passionate about the integrity of our product and enthused about what it can deliver to consumers, including the health-giving powers of its vitamins, minerals and nutrients. We hope that many of the connections we made will lead to long-lasting relationships, partnerships and collaborations.
